i'll do my 375k in a couple months :thumbdo:

i wanted to ask as well about the angel eyes and hids

i got the angel eyes and was wondering about the hid fitment. should i fit the angel eyes and then do the hids? or will i have to do double the work in terms of opening up the headlights?

Angel Eyes can be fitted without removing the headlight. All that you need to remove is the Plastic "Brow" that follows the top of the headlight, then the corner indicators, then the body colour strip below the headlight, the clear plastic lens that covers the headlight, and then lastly the black plastic piece that goes around the bowls inside the headlight. Should take you 5 min per side to remove.

Are you only doing the HID kit? Or the full Projector installation? Projector is easier to remove the whole light assembly. HID kit is done without even touching the light assembly. You just need to buy the HID adaptors. Looks the same as grey "twist locks" your bulbs are currently in but locks the HID bulbs in place.

Install the Angel Eyes and later do the HID. I had my Angel Eyes and then did the HID upgrade with projectors. When I did the HID I simply unclipped the Angel Eyes and reinstalled after my projectors were in.

Ok great stuff. Auto style has the hid kit but I understand the projector is the way to go. Got the angel eyes from them too.

Nope, wires up to the ECU box (ignition position 2).

Go check my DIY.

Sets out exactly where the wires should go and where to mount the control unit (Little black box where all your wires come out).

Hi Chris, a bit off topic but got my vanos seals this morning at the post office and fitted them. Started the car at about 2 o'clock this afternoon and it is purring like a kitten. Must say, car definitely feels more lively, even with only 10kms on the seals.
The biggest issue i had with the job was trying to get the old seals off without damaging the pistons. And the oil leaking out when i took the vanos off. But looking good now. I am glad i finally did it!

Great to hear!

Vanos really does make a big difference. Especially with low down torque.

I found the Vanos felt great after I did the job, but after I took my car in for an oil change it felt a bit down on torque again. Don't know why.

thats odd had my seals in for over a year now still feels as strong as when i fitted them... only annoying thing now is cold days seem to deliver way more power than hot days because the car can adjust now lol

Then again, my clutch finally went so that could also be the reason why it feel down on torque. :fishwack:

But even before that it felt a bit down on power. It could be that after we flushed the engine that some bits made their way into some corners affecting performance but I will do another oil change soon.

Thanks, me too. I don't want to open the engine unnecessarily but i need to know whats going on. When I told the guys doing my oil change that I recently replaced the Vanos seals they looked puzzled for some reason and just nodded and said 'okay'.

I think another oil change would sort it.

most workshops dont even know what Vanos is :fencelook:

This is a reputable workshop but he's probably perplexed as I bring the car in for an oil change but change the Vanos seals myself.

The reason is that I need that nice RMI approved sticker in my maintenance bookie.

Ok. I just realised my angel eye kit comes without a relay. They should hook up to the park lights I think. Not sure What's the best way to hook them up.

Should I return it for one with a relay or should I just get a relay?
Also do you keep the park lights off when running these eyes?

You can ask kabal. He tapped into his park lights. Most people prefer this as they want to choose when to switch the lights on and off. Get some splicing clips and splice the lights into the park lights wire. They are also 12V
