Attention members:
On 30/92014 we were not able to migrate the bmwfanatics forum to the new server where the other fanatics forums and thefanatics portal are hosted. We currently running on two servers.
This weekend we are ready to make the switch over to the new cloud server.
The complete Bmwfanatics structure has been copied over. The steps will be as follow;
1. BMWFan on Dedicated change to maintenance mode
2. Backup DB
3. Transfer DB to BMWFan on Cloud.
4. Update DNS
We would like to schedule this for around 5am Saturday morning, 25 October.
We will be doing a test run for the DB backup today to see if we don’t need Afrihost to assist... If we do need Afrihost, the the process might only start at around 8am tomorrow.
Once the DB have successfully been transferred, the DNS can be updated. Then the propagation process start. This will
vary for users as this happens across the entire web.
