I really can't believe that I am saying this, but if I were in your shoes I also would not have paid that premium for the BMW to be honest. :fencelook:

This GTD looks stunning.

Thanks for all the comments. I will do a proper write up on Sunday after having spent the weekend with it.

I am a fan of all the tech stuff you are getting with the car.
VAG are the leaders in that regard.

However, I would have gone with a run out (or demo) 320d (maybe I am biased ;) ), admittedly would not be as well specced at that price. And no digital cockpit either :(

If you are on the R55 one Sunday morning, would love to have a friendly dice...

It's not a dice, it's a performance test... and all within the legal speed limit remember. :pimp:

Agree, exactly what I meant to say.

For future reference, you just need to resize your images before u try to upload them... The image browser has a 5mb per pic limit...

Very nice, definitely an upgrade from the bmw cluster. I think bmw need to get with the program as most other premium brands have digital displays as standard

A few initial comments.

1. Would have liked a start button.
2. Prefer the DCT over DSG, but simply because the DSG requires physical movement of the gear selector so it's mildly annoying to stick it in park when I want to switch it off.
3. Would have liked a proper handbrake.

Other than that, it drives very well and pulls decent enough. Obviously it's pointless comparing the power to a x35i. The seats are amazing, though I still have to figure out the best seating position, will get there during the weekend I'm sure. BEST part, from springs to sunninghill with a few stops in Bedfordview and Kempton park the average consumption for the trip was 4.8l/100

Congrats on the car, I love VW interiors. That whole package with the the GTi looks and the thinking man engine. I love it.

Saw this during #Dubrun2k17

Apparently Joburg to Durban overall consumption on the GTD was 3.9l/100

This is instant...

Did VW forget to put the software back on "road use"

I like your honest feedback, many people will say how great the car is and not mention their frustration or disappointment in other areas. All in all it sounds like you happy with your purchase
