Hi All,

I drive a 2013 X1 2.0d and I need to replace all 4 shocks on the car (According to BMW),

I tried to get a quote from another garage but they recon me that shocks for the X1 are only available from the agents.

Is this true? Or let me know where I can get shocks for this car please.

Ur ride is only 3 yrs. Isnt that too soon to be looking for shocks. I would get a shock test done.
Also if car is still on plan, plan can pay

Its amazing how BMW will never find a fault when your car is on plan but just take your car there out of plan. 5 mins and you already given a list of faults.

That's the sad part...According to BMW 3 of my mags are bend... :blueCry: and because of that they will not replace the shocks under motor plan.

I took the car to TWT for balancing and they couldn't find anything wrong with my 4 mags...:crazylaugh:

Seems like the BMW motor plan only covers your shocks when your car is less than 2 years old as the BMW Service Adviser already told me when I booked in my car that MW wants a report from the dealer on why they should replace the shocks under motor plan :crazylaugh:

had the same issue with vw the glen with the e90 .. rattle and knock from front right suspension .. car feels loose on the road .. asked them if they could look into it being a problem with the shocks .. was told that i have to privately get a shock test done, else if they do it on their side, and the shock is fine, the bill needs to be settled by me ..
shocks are designed to last atleast 100k km .. which means they wont cover it under plan .. unless it fails .. and u would probably have to prove it was a manufacturers failure .......

lotta kak stories surfacing with motorplan these days ...

Sounds like a BS story.

Take your car to Hi-Q, and Autoquip. Take all 3 reports to BMW and show them nothing is wrong.

If the car is on plan, they have to pay.

Go to another dealer

I was considering taking my car to another dealer but I was under the impression that they can see on their system that BMW Secunda also looked at my car in the same week with the findings/comments made by BMW Secunda.

Honestly I have had many BMW's and all in plan, didn't know shocks were only covered for the 1st two years, maybe they have an issue because of the buckled rims. Escalate to BMW HQ.
