2012 - 2013 F10 520d Steptronic <100,000km

Fellow BMW owners,

I would like to get opinion on the model as per the subject line. Any common concerns, issues, faults...

I am currently in a 2009 E60 530d auto with 230,000Km on the clock, and its time for me to move onto something with lower millage.

I'm currently stuck between Volvo / VW / BMW with the BMW 5 offering good value for money in the 520d.

One reason I am looking at the 520d is due to my budget, which I limit due to the millage I do (50,000km/year) which obviously means loss in value is rapid. another, my millage is motorway, so a lesser powerful car would not be much of a concern, hence not another 530d.

At the same time, perhaps I should ask if there is a market for a E60 530d on here, I am considering advertising it here for around R130,000 but trade is obviously more convenient.

Would appreciate your input.

Rather consider a 2014 LCI there are a few subtle differences that are really nice to have,

I'd be hesitant going 520d from 530d... As much as you say the lesser power wont be too much of an issue... You'll miss the power for sure.

They are good cars though and the 8 Speed box does wonders for that engine keeping it in the optimal power band :thumbs:
