Bmw were using castrol and have changed to shell. So chances are you've already changed oil recently.

On that motor you can use Liqui Moly 5W30, the long life one in the purple bottle. It'll also be around R500, but contact Moranor as I think he will be cheaper. You need 6.3 L of oil.

Autostyle are idiots, it's a flat filter you need. Get this from the agents. I put more faith in the cotton at the bottom of the filter than hoping for K&N to do the same job. It's pricey but only needs to be done in another 15k km after this.

Pull the CIA report on the car and check if the fuel filter was changed in the last 50k km or so. If not, replace it else just leave it as its a kak job.

If you don't have cash for the Microfilter now, you can just blow it out and do at the next 7500km oil service. Generally these get changed every 30k km, or when real dirty.

Get a size 27 socket to remove the housing of the oil filter.

On average I spend around R2500 on a 'full' service doing it myself, agents only parts except for the oil.

I flushed my engine using LM engine flush, do this at your own risk though.

Okay so I just did not have the time to get all the parts , so I bit the bullet and booked the car in.
They tell me I need to replace 4 Led Globes
1 x R60.00 + 14% = R68.40 x 4 = R273.60
Labor = 30mins R480.00
R753.00 just for 4 led globes and fitting.

I could have gotten the Micro filter for way cheaper and was going to do it myself but they insisted they will not reset my service light, even if I come after I refited the micro filter my self.

They treat you like Crap once you out of motorplan.

Well im not familiar with the LCI and the LED rear tailights, in all likely hood its piss easy to replace the bulbs the "LEDS" they're talking about, so if you haven't bit the bullet yet. I would pull the tailight bulb holders out and inspect them to see if you can do it yourself. which you probably can. and save yourself R500 labour. If i can strip a front bumper and xenon lights myself. you can replace tailight bulbs.

All done
Price was actually cheaper
Total: R4100.00 include vat and labor.

lets just say I will not be going back to them for a service.

My ride e90 320d 2011 is due for service at 142000km

i bought the following:

-6 x Castrol Proffesional Edge 5w30 1L - R125 each - R700 @ Midas
-Oem Oil filter - R265.00 @ bemow
-Oem diesel filter - R650.00 @ Bemow
(Non Oem) Air Filter - R150.00 @ Fazels PTA west
-Front break pads and disks - R2150.00 @ GoldWagen PTA west

*Decided not to change the Cabin Filter will change it next service as im not a huge air con user.

*Labour Including reset will set me back - R400.00 so all in all this will set me back R4315.00

this is way cheaper and affordable then sending the car to agents will a bill that might come in the region of R7000.00 no ways.

Is it not cheaper to buy a 5L and a 1 litre, or just 2 X 5L and keep the remainder for top ups and even the next service?

Yes but you cannot find in 5l.... castrol maybe. But the new shell is impossible as thus far

Tail lights

how do you reset it on your own.

how do you reset it on your own.

Tail lights if LED is dead replace the complete light. Its a sealed unit and part of the light assy. It is also cheaper to buy a complete set than to buy a single taillight. There was a service bulletin out on it and a different part number is used for the set
