Hi Guys

Post is probably slightly overdue. Picked her up in July. 2011 335i currently on 61k kms. No plans to mod for now atleast. Had a few small issues but its running well now. Fuel consumption is surprisingly decent on the open road.

Any ideas on improving the lighting the stock halogen lights aren't the greatest?

Congrats on the beautiful car man.

As far as I know the Phillips LED globes are a huge improvement from the OEM globes. I want to swap my OEM globes out for those in the near future too

Thanks . I have looked into that but from what I understand due to the fan etc on the back of the globe the back dust cover will not close on the low beam. Also not certain whether the LED globes work well with reflectors.

Congratulations on the car, thats a lovely low mileage 335i

With regards to the headlights, when i bought my car i also had the halogens unfortunately and the light output was horrible, seeing at night was actually more of a challenge than anything else.

I did however get a set of the after market Halogen replacement headlights from Firi (Renzzport), has projectors for the low beams as well as the m3 dtm angels as mine did not have and although it cost me over 7.5k in the end with with Led globes and laminex to protect them, its been the best investment I've made by far, changed the whole look of the front of the car as well as light output is a million times better than the stock halogens. :tiptoe:

hay man, congrats on the new ride.

I always feel like the led globes create more of a flood light when in the halogen's reflectors, I would rather just save up a but more and go with something proper like the DTM headlights, might be more expensive but will get better light pattern.

Thank you

That’s my concern as well. Think I’m just going to change to better halogen globes for now...Phillips Xtreme vision or Osram night breakers

@raks16, I purchased Philips Diamond Vision bulbs for my halogens was pleasantly surprised with the outcome, plus the light output looks much better than the yellow..

I have the car close to a year and its been a relatively enjoyable ownership experience. Have put on about 10 000kms since i purchased it last year.
She's currently on 68k Kms.

It ran on the fanatics dyno day. The numbers were abit low at 186wkw. Was hoping to it would be around 200wkw. I ran it the following weekend at CoLab tuning KAR dyno it ran 205wkw.

Some pics of the graphs and car.

Lovely car bud!

could possibly look into a carbonc clean to help free up some extra ponies but 205wkw at KAR is pretty decent!
Don't know how KAR stacks up any longer or if anything has changed since I was there many years ago but those are decent numbers of their dyno.

howzit mnr.
from a dealership perspective best one can do is check per VIN if there is a retro fit kit available from OEM. alternative to that, there is also an option for blue halogen globes one can purchase, its actually a more clear/white than the normal yellow-ish form STD halogen globes. blue globe set aprox R1000.00 from dealers for the set...just ask nicely for some discount :)
