Having gotten an offer I couldn't refuse for the X1, was back in the market for a nice reliable weekender.. The X4 and X1 20d's were more of the same car anyway..

The search started with a whole lot of options at Sub 200k weekender.. The Mrs was adamant it had to be vert..
Had a look at CLK 500's, A3's, A5 TDI, Cooper S, 330i e93, Z4 3.0i.. I think we only realise when shopping gets real that there's actually fewer options out there than we tend think..
Having owned an N54 335i, those were excluded from the search.. Clean N55'S were beyond budget..

After all the test drives, I was settled on a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder Beemer! It was limited to 330i, Z4 30i and 125i..

It's been two weeks now.. Solid drive, not the fastest compared to my daily.. Just shy of 90k km! I already feel like it will be in my house for a long time to come..

The downside is that they are thirsty little beings, but we can live with that since we both daily 20d and 30d respectively.. Another downside is the lack Xenon, I can live with that for now..

Congrats! My wife had the same year model and was a really great car. Fuel consumption was really the worst, for comparison my F80 consumes the same E88 125i 🤯
Currently sitting at 15l/100 ... even my previous N54 was better at 10l/100! 🤣🤣

Nice find, I always liked this shape.
Naturally aspirated versions are reliable.

Many happy miles

Lol, YES the fuel consumption is crazy (especially after the Xcede 130i tune tend to drive with a heavier foot:p), I have bought the car from @NtandoN....best to be used as a weekend car or for longer trips....but an absolute joy to drive.

Congrats to @maleven-GP Car looks great and very little can compare to that N/A Straight 6 sound:love:

Mine sits at between 19 and 20 l/100kms....however I mostly only use it for the school run which is about 8kms return with many stop start situations.. I found on the freeway/longer trips it does come down to around 12l/100 sometimes even 9s if you drive decently

I'd be interested to see what that Xcede tune has done in terms of power delivery..

The SO doesn't want to get off this car 🤣🤣, she hasn't touched the X4 since it's arrival..

She's sitting on 13L/100 currently with mixed driving, I hardly drive it..

Lol...On my Car the Xcede tune made quite a significant improvement in terms of Power (At the Coast) Dyno'd at Autotrix (Which some say is known not to over read ) and it was making 151kw and 270nm on the wheels

I hate washing my own cars, but I have no choice but to detail them every 3 months.. Here's what a 3 hour interior and engine bay job turned out on the vert..
