320d is mich more powerfull then 325i, and it takes 6.5l- 7l per 100km in town against 9l-10l of 325i. But 2010 320d will cost you R40000 more then 2010 325i with a same mileage. Roughly you can buy 3000 liters petrol with r40000. And considering 3l difference in fuel consumption, your disel car will start pay you back after 100000km on the road. Plus the major problems with 320d: turbo, injectors (r2500 each for second hand), damper pulley (r3000 for the second hand), high pressure pump... And N47 Engine itself has a big issue with a timing chain tensioner and the engine block. And the price of this engine is double of N52 one.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I appreciate sharing your knowledge. Everyone has spoken of sourcing a BM with low mileage, what would be considered low?

I bought mine at 90k km in 2016 with extended MP on it, I considered that as low. It's on 136k km now which I still think is low.
