Yip dude got my 1 last week, car is amazing,smooth yet so much power,gives an exciting drive,will post pics soon
Go for the dct bru lotsa fun
Dude....You were suppose to update me :fishwack: Congratulations :thumbs:
@UpnComing - Congratulations on making your decision. I have owned the Step, Manual (Both N54) and now have DCT (N55). My verdict is the following;
Step - Nice box but certainly not as responsive as DCT. Both up and down changes are lightening quick in the DCT which allows you minimal boost loss as compared with the step and manual (especially). The changes in the step especially the upchanges frustrated me when the car was stock but when modded it somehow assisted quite nicely. Downchanges is a dud.... Altogether, you have a good chance of doing a nice time at the drag with this box but its lazy in my opinion especially in day to day driving :thumbdo:
Manual - Certainly the most fun, hands down, without a doubt!! I shaked that ass at almost every twisty I found :rollsmile: Tyre melting is a huge issue on this car because of the Manual

I burnt so much rubber with it, its not even funny. Even changed clutch twice withing 8k km. Once I modded this car, it became very fast and responsive but the only sorrowful part is that your changes will never equal to that of a DCT or step....well maybe come close to the step with a CDV and a good aftermarket clutch. I usually raced rolling and that made the fun of 60ft dissappear. But you have definite disadvantage off the line, fact. Getting that launch perfect all the time is like a pie in the sky. More than likely, you would not do a time for what your mods are worth....if you know what I mean :nonono:
DCT

raise: - BY FAR - the fastest changes of them all (up and down), very very smooth, alot of fun with Launch Control and if you drop in an exhaust (or maybe just downpipe and BMW performance box, as I have) you will certainly get your willy happy everytime you drive it.....I do more downchanges than anything else :joy: I havn't put it on the track as yet but you certainly will have no worries about your error rate. Its amazing how such technology makes this car great. My choice above all three...... :thumbs:
As for N54 vs the N55 - N54 is a more tunable version (for now) but N55 is certainly not shy :thumbs: I believe there will be better solutions for the N55 once the guys start experimenting a bit :=):
Hope that helps :thumbs:
