Hi,

I have come across a 2009 325i for sale.
100 000km FSH. The price is reasonable and the vehicle is in good condition.

My concerns are mainly on fuel consumption as well as repairs and maintenance costs in the near future.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Thanks.

Hi there. Rather get a 320d. There is a lovely example in the for sale section. Almost the same performance and half the fuel. Plus the motors are bullet proof. Just my 2c.

Thanks.

Does it make a difference if I say the asking price is R100k?
I have been looking around and don't see anything close to this.

If you are at the coast the 325 is not a bad option considering the price.

If you are hoping to tune the car and extract a few more ponies then the 320d is a better option especially at the reef.

As a daily driver in traffic get the diesel. The power delivery will also be better on the D.

That being said my drive to work used to be against traffic 35km one way, my fuel consumption was 8.5l on the E90 323i.

I wife now users the car to work in some stop start traffic an average's around 10.5l 15kms to work one way.

I still think you will get more enjoyment out of the 320D.

Hi there.
I own a 2008 325i with the M Sport on 17 narrow/wides.
Currently on 143000km, bought at 95000km.

Car drives epic if you love revving and hearing a six pot NA at full chat.
Current consumption I get is:
12km/l -highway. 50% spirited
8km/l - town. 50% spirited

Big ticket costs:
Water pump - usually last 100 000km (10k to replace)
Vanos solenoids - usually last 120 000km (5k to replace both)
My one DISA flap cooked at 130 000km

TYRES, TYRES, TYRES... rears are shot at around 30 000km

Hope this helps!
