Hi Guys,

I have bought a 2008 X5 3.0sd however concerning the auto light and rain sensors they don't work, this model does not have the light switch where you turn it to the left to activate "auto" and neither does it have the actuater on the stork for the wipers where the green led light would come on?

Can't fathom this, must just mean they are not part of the package as I do not pick it up on the "purchase" spec's either?

Have done the torch thing in my garage with lights full on to the screen on the rear view mirror where the light sensor would be as well as the water spray thing on the windscreen however nadda!!!

Any ideas?

It's possible that the windshield has been replaced with the wrong one, giving you the idea the car has auto wipers and lights.

Hi,

Windscreen was replaced last week and they put the original one back on, so has the sensor thing on the screen but they don't work as I said tried the water spraying thing but normally with my other beamers the little LED light would have to be on auto on the stork as indicated in the pic "it doesn't" have this???

Cheers.

no auto lights.
But BMWs weakness, not real auto wipers, as follows turn ignition on - press wiper stalk button once and try water on the sensor. it should work. you adjust speed with the turn adjustor up or down.
Normal Auto wipers on 99% other models it remains on all the time unless manually switched off, but Im afraid BMW have not achieved that ability yet and therefore you have to press the stalk button every time you want the "AUTO" on.
