This is a decision I'm currently facing and am not sure. Both vehicles will be manual. Which would you take.

Both vehicles cost the same.

One will have to consider the motor plan. The M3 will be in its 5th year next year. And to extend M cars is very expensive.

The 335i being new gives you 4 years plus with no motor plan concerns etc.

M cars are awesome and up a level from the 335i. But the 335i is an awesome car too. Both have the same torque. the 8 cycilner could be the decider. Then again that depends where you stay. 335i at altitude gives the m3 a very hard go. sea level the m3 takes it for sure.

Why not go with a 2009/2010 M3 coupe?

cost me R2500 to extend my motorplan.

that got me new clutch and flywheel, brake discs, pads twice, shocks, sunroof.

bargain if you ask me :)

Had a coupe, i want a convert. motorplan and mileage is the only reason for choosing 335 but that reason is so major

Kisho, motorplan should not be a determining factor in this decision, you know full well that you wont keep the car longer than 2 months anyway :)

LOL @ freerider....

R 2 500?

Called BMW Motor Plan dept two days ago to extend motor plan on 335i. 1 year is R 5 000.

Km's - 5000 is R 8 000
Km's - 20 000 is R 33 000

If it were coupe, then M3 for sure.

But in a convertible, I'd lean towards the 335i. For me, somehow, a convertible doesn't suit the character for a ///M car. Can't explain it though ...

M3 for heart , 335i for head . For a convertible M3 is overkill IMHO , the handling of the coupe is lost , the posing in a 'vert does not need M3 costs .

M power all day...

But if you plan keeping it for a long period then go 335i, they are fun cars as well.

M3 . Sorry but the 335i convertible looks the same as a 330i convertible , and they's many of them . An M3 is an M3 and its just soo damn beautiful in convertible pose .
