Hey all how are you and happy holidays, I was looking to get a 420i convert (N20) thats going for cheap from the dreaded webuycars. It has some error codes and dont know if you guys would have any input on these.

Firstly there is a error for the drivers seat not locking back into place (the back piece i assume)

It has a drivetrain error (yellow) - which can be due to low fuel in it or a low battery which these other codes probably came from as well (car sits on the floor for long without being started)

Engine looks clean as per pic but didnt look under the cover

Im in dbn and the car is in jhb so would need to go there to look at it in person

Are you buying this as a project car or your daily? If your daily, I would personally never consider something like this. Need to ask yourself, is it a need to own a BMW that drives your appetite for risk? If so it's not worth it bud. Buy something in good condition without the risk. Can still be a BMW.

Forget the fact that this 174000km N20 based car is throwing timing related codes and the off-chance they ARE actually battery related...

Using eyes would be helpful as would reading the Dekra that STATES it has major structural damage RIGHT NOW

Not signs of being repaired.
Not repaired poorly.
It is structurally damaged now as it sits there  :ROFLMAO: Knowing how 'loose' the Dekra reports are, this doesn't bode well for the rest of the vehicle's actual condition.

Engine looks clean as per pic but didnt look under the cover

Unfortunately this means nothing.

This can only end in tears. Run away
