2008 E90 330d auto consumption

I get about 13km/l (about 7,5l/100kms) with open road/city driving of 75/25 ratio with my pre lci 330d auto but under the same conditions get about 14,5km/l (about 6.9l/100kms) with my 2006 E60 530d auto, which brings me to my question: could it be that my 330d is maybe running cold or is it the normal consumption for a 330d auto and maybe exceptional for the 530d? What do you get with your E90 330d auto. Must say that i drive with economy in mind and stick strictly to the speed limits. E60 is standard except for cat and swirl flaps delete. E90 is bog standard with cats and flaps intact (brand new inlet manifold, injectors and glow plugs though) but remapped.

i might venture that the cats are the cause of your 330d getting worse consumption than your 530d.. they really can make quite the difference especially if they are a few years old and getting semi clogged..

I have a 2011 E90 330d, Im not sure if the power difference between the pre-lci and lci has an influence on consumption. My car is still stock and I get 6.8l/100kms in city driving with traffic.

Last week my trip down to Durbs, highway cruising at 128km/h, aircon on for most of the way I got 5.1l/100kms, almost 900kms on the tank. The economy gauge was mostly hovering around the 3-4l/100kms.

Hi Iceman, did you get 5,1 on the obc or was that when you calculated the consumption by filling the tank and calculating from what you put in against the distance? That is really good economy. Keep in mind the lci has the uprated motor.

That is the calculated consumption from full tank to empty, you can check my Fuelly logs, I keep a strict log book because of the distances I do.

Since the engine is opening up, the car has been getting lighter on fuel. Noticed the same thing on my Audi A4 2.0Tdi after I hit the 100k mark, started getting lighter on fuel.

For a 3litre this car has excellent fuel consumption.

i'm getting around 12.5km/l with my 2005 330d. mainly traffic driving daily.

open road i get 15.1km/l. haven't been able to get it higher than this. but i suspect that might be due to the cat. car is still stock on 195 000km.

so not bad! very happy with the consumption considering it's a 3l 6cyl beasty :rollsmile:
