2007 E90 325i boot problems

Hi Guys

Wonder if you could help with a slight problem I have on my wife's car, well as the title states we having boot problems. The boot doesn't seem to open when using the key and when pressing the button to open it by the drivers side.

We started experiencing this last week and the only way the boot opens is with the actual key inserted in the key hole by the actual boot. would you guys maybe know what the problem is and how I/where can solve this.

I had the same issue, turned out the wires going to the boot had frayed, a quick solder and all was sorted. its incased in the black rubber tubing leading from just below the left of the rear glass to the boot.

Thank you guys, looks like it was the valet switch which was locked :hammerhead:
