2006 X5 Injector problem

Howsit guys

Did any of you had any problems involving injectors, fuel pump, fuel rails?

The reason for asking: My cousin is struggling to find any answers with his problem.

It is a 2006 X5 3.0d.

Symptoms:

-When driving and putting pedal to the metal the car starts jerking and cuts out. Switch it off and back on the error code is gone till you put foot again.
-Error (On board computer) Fuel injection system.

He had it logged before but there is apparently a couple of things that can be wrong!

A)The fuel pump could be on its way out
B)there is like an extra pump that might be the problem also,
C)Injectors (1&6) is faulty
or
D)the pressure rail might be the problem.

R6000 for an injector is just madness to replace the injectors.

So if anyone can help us narrowing the cause I would appreciate it!

My friend has endless problems with his Diesel also, apparently there is someone that can recondition all of your injectors ( but its still not a cheap exercise )

i know this is clutching at straws, but you should also have a battery check done, apparently, if there is any sort of voltage problem on the car, it will play havoc on the car's electronics

A few years ago, I had issues with my 2005 X5 3.0d - rough idle when cold, etc.

Tunetech did the diagnostics, identified the problem for me and eventually cleaned out 2 injectors, which fixed the problem.

I suggest taking the vehicle to them - they are very good with diagnosing and repairs.

If it is the injectors, then they can also be cleaned out (if they are not too bad). Usually a much cheaper option.

Mainly problems with glowplugs and injectors!
Have them checked and then decide!

Changed 2 glowplugs and 2 injectors at Natascha's X5 3.0d (114k km) and all is back to normal again
