2006 e90 320 low oil warning

no idea what oil they using... but threw in S14w40 oil at nearest garage last week. Had someone following me this morning all the way down from the N1 down the R300 and said he didnt see any smoke whatso ever...up hill nothing.

Hmm, S14w40 doesn't sound right to me in terms of a known oil spec - I would think it would use something like 5W-30. Also, be careful adding oil from typical garages - best is to use exactly the same brand and spec that is already in your car.

If this is the case, personally I would drain the existing oil and fill with the correct stuff, then see how it goes. Down hill is a good test for valve stem seals - usually at the very bottom of the hill when you put foot again you will see a plume of smoke for a while if that is the case...

SO i ran a full diagnostic on my car earlier... (checking oil sensor maybe) anyway no fault codes nothing....

so i started the car earlier to pull into the garage and then checked the levels again and it was back on max!!!!:yuck:

Yep, these electronic dipsticks are going to become a headache - so stupid that they didn't think to include a normal physical dipstick! :nonono:
