I have a problem with my "new" car in that it still uses the standard diamond pattern key to start the car. It does not have the start button, just the key. When i turn the key to start the car, the starter only activates a split second after i have turned the key to that position. In other words, there is a split second delay before the starter kicks in. Those of you with 2003 - (late) 2005 cars with the key (not the button start), do you also experience the same thing re a slight delay from turning the key for start and then a split second later the starter kicks in? Just asking as i have not experienced it on any of my previous cars.

there are a couple reasons I can think of.
1. Battery
2. Starter solenoid
3. Bad connections - battery or the key itself (try spare key)
