2004 318i E46 - EML light and Limp mode

I have a BMW 2004 318i E46. I can start and drive normal for 10-15 minutes, stop and turn off the engine. THen when I start it up again, the EML light comes on and car drives in "LIMP MODE".
I happened to notice max rev of 2500 rpm in limp mode. However, driving down a steep downhil and the revs then climbing to above 6000 rpm, the engine suddenly seems to "fix" itself from limp mode. The engine then seems to return to normal driving operations - giving full power and acceleration functions.
By stopping and turning off the igniotion, the EML error seemed to have "fixed" itself. When I restart the engine, EML is OFF! and car drives in normal mode.
I do have a suspicion this error is heat related!
Could this be a Valvatronic fault or Throttle control problem?
Where could I get better fault diagnostic descriptions....

I used a iCarSoft Multi System Scanner i910 and identified the following error:
SS3203BD
Part No: 756332B, Code Index 0A Index 0001; Varian Index 314C
Date: 10/05/2004
Internal Fault 2A67 2A67 Valvetronic Internal Fault
Valvetronic SS3203D/S32038D

Hi toppiegtrs

Did you ever find a solution to this problem as I have the some problem and I have a 2001 318i E46.
