2003 X5 Air suspension failure

Hi Guys

I have seen a couple of threads that confirms that this is possible but I don't seem to find anything viable in Pretoria. My E53 X5 3.0d has finally suffered the dreaded air suspension failure on the rear axle and needs urgent attention. The pump still seems to work however not sure if it is still working well, the car has 390k km's on it (and still going strong). My question is, what would be more viable, replacing the air springs and pump or converting to coil springs. Also, should the air springs be more viable, where can I get them at a reasonable price? The prices I got so far is rediculous. If the coil springs are a better option, where in Pretoria can I get them?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm currently sorting out the same issue on my inlaws E53 X5. Got a quote for the air springs from KZN Airshocks in Ballito for R4500 each for the rear springs. Their labour charge is R1,000 for each side.

Fortunately or unfortunately for me the air springs were fine however the electronics on the car were tampered with by the previous owner.
