My advice is to go see a clutch and brake specialist with a sample. Perhaps they can use their catalog to match up something that is current technology, as your play is usually taken up by the piston.

All you essentially need is for the mounting holes/screws to line up.

Its actually a bit harder than that, the 68-72 clutch slave fits in a "sleeve" on the gearbox and is held in place by 2 circlips, and matching one up with another make is unlikely. You can buy a brand new one from bmw, although it will cost you. (a new brake master is R6900)

Can't you repair yours? I think that would be the easiest route to go. If you don't have one, go on junkmail or gumtree, there were 2 guys stripping 2002s for parts, one in CT and one in JHB somewhere iirc. The other option is to buy one in the US or UK secondhand(many people can help you there) and ship it as it is a small part, unlike the shocks i had to ship...

I have a new one for my ti, I will go look later today is I still have the old one(unknown condition).

Hope all this helps.

Regards
Jacques

Oh and +1 on the repair.

Thanks.

But 2002's are probably the only bmw's I know well(aside from what I read in mags). Seems like I need to strip down more cars... Anybody willing to lend me their car?
