Good day fanatics.

I want to show of my tractor after 4 months of problems on problems. At first I had an account which was "330d named skye (or something like that) but lost that password so I created a new account"

I bought my car on march(my first car). The same day of buying it by a old lady, I noticed that there was oil in the expansion tank which led to a milky mixture, I spoke to the seller so she said that there is nothing wrong with it. So me and my dad (20 years experienced diesel mechanic) decided to fix the car ourselves. After replacing the cylinder head gasket, skimmed the cylinderhead and replacing the oil cooler and seals we noticed that the water is leaking straight through the engine out of the oil pan. And by that time I was so demotivated and decided to sell this tractor I have. But something told me to try again and thanks to my dad which motivated me also. So we opened the engine and came across that the block was cracked. (Probably got warm, so the previous owners decided to sell it) I contacted SMG cape town to ask for a quote on pistons, sleeves etc. they replied with the shocking amount of R49 000. So we decided to buy a imported engine, which was R25 500 with 88 000 km on the clock. Thanks to LDR engines in cape town.. After fitting the engine, at first try it started with no common diesel smoke coming out of the exaust, the engine runs like a dream.

By then I knew all my problems was gone!

After so much struggle Im proud to be a owner of the legendary E46. And on the positive side, I've learned alot about my car, and if something goes on this engine, I have an extra spare parts for everything that goes on the engine, because I still have my old engine.

I have fitted my Queen with a downpipe. And i must say, that turbo just sound mooooooi in it.[HEAVY BLACK HEART]️

There's still alot to do on my baby, as I proceed, ill update this thread.

where did you get a downpipe from?

I've done it by MPT in Vredenburg- West coast. Awesome work they do there! I will highly recommend them.

Nice one mate. Wishing you many happy and safe miles in the E46. Best BMW 3 series they ever made imho, but I am very biased.
