Morning to all,

I really need some advice this morning,

Okay just to give a picture I replaced the gasket sets and V-belt on my vehicle this past Monday. The job went really well and with ease, although it took me almost the whole day.

Now my problem and advice needed :
Before replacing the above mentioned my fuel consumption was about at 17L per 100km in normal urban driving and on the highways about 9L per 100km.

Now my fuel consumption went up to 24L per 100km urban and about 12L per 100km on the freeways. :argh:

What did I do wrong or didn't do

Regards

Is the car feeling the same, wrt power and smoothness?

Did you not unplug a sensor and forget to put it back perhaps? :dunno:

Do you have access to read fault codes, maybe like Abi said a sensor is unplugged, fault code will show which one

The car performs and drive the same according to the smoothness and power. I worked on the car Monday and by Yesterday I double checked everything. I then took her for a drive +- 30km on the freeway and back home, but still the same HIGHER fuel consumption.

When you say gaskets, you mean the valve cover gaskets? If so, there's so much stuff that needs to get moved, uncliped etc. Maybe just go over everything again and make sure tis all in place...good luck man hope you get sorted ASAP

Could be a host of little things.

As suggested, sensor wrong, vacuum leak, squirrel in cylinder 3..

Agree with all, have your codes read, but its something small bud, dont stress..

Morning Guys,

Thanks for all the info and help. The problem was one of the hoses that wasn't clipped back properly. So took a test drive again and my lady is back to 15L per 100km.

Once again thanks to all, for the info.

Appreciate.
