Sorry to derail this thread a bit- but that is a moerse big carport at Gert's place.

@Gert: Do you flash trucks as well?

@fordkoppie. Gert ran an updated flash which took care of those two things. The car is driving fantastic now.

So the business cd frontloader I installed started acting up so seeing as we have a working 6 disc shuttle now, I reinstalled the original radio/tape.

Gave her a wash this morning, filled the tank with 95 Shell V-Power and gave Gareth the parts needed for the next 2 services. 20lt of Liqui Moly Toptech 4100 5W40, two OEM oil filters and two OEM air filters.

Will vacuum interior tonight.

I am strangely glad about this because I have a tape to 3.5mm adapter so I can play media from my phone for the trek back

I collected Gareth from ORT after the breakfast cruise and took him home to meet his new daily. He is very very happy, says it is even more car than he was expecting, good to hear.

Enjoy your new wheels Gareth, drive her in good health and have a safe and uneventful trip back to cape town. I miss her already.:blowheart:

Sitting at Grasmere 1stop getting setup for the long haul. Gizmo, as I said before, you built an amazing car here that I am proud to own.

M54B30 is a beast!

It definitely made the top 10 best engines list in 2001-2003 with good reason :cartel:

Must say, it looks really amazing in the last photos in this thread. I almost want a wagon 330i now too :p

Those sports seats are perfect for long drives. Definitely enjoyed the normal e46 sport seats when I drove down from Durban to Cape Town.

Here are my last 3 pics of her that I took last night after cleaning the interior and making the garage look a little more presentable for the reveal/introduction.

Hmmmm... looking my carport I'm seeing a lot of oil marks on the paving. Funny I only noticed it in the pics.

@Gav, it so happens I'm planning to get into trucking, although I didn't think of it two years ago when I put the carport up :biglol: I made it that high, because low carports are dark and depressing.

Epic.
Would have loved to feel the difference in driveability without that stupid throttle adaptation

Well Done to the new owner for: 1. For buying such an awesome wagon, and 2. For making it home safely.

Well done Gizmo for letting her go gracefully, I am going to miss this thread though'.

I need to ask what the hell do you use for degreaser cause it turns out amazing !!!
Prepsol is cheap and good for most degreasing jobs but if you want it done fast then Wynns 59 Second Mag Cleaner is the bee's knees.

Its perhaps a little pricey relative to Prepsol, around R70 500ml(if you know some of the guys at the Midas counters you can get it a fair bit cheaper) but a little goes a long way and you can't compare the two, Wynns smashes prepsol, the saved labour is worth significantly more than the extra you pay for Wynns. Granted prepsol has it place, especially if you are unsure of how delicate the items being cleaned are and you can't go wrong at R120/5L.

This stuff:

Looks like it's been rebranded, but same 1-minute cleaning instruction so I'm assuming the formula is still the same:
