Howdy

So my 330d reached 200000km, is it time to start saving up for major repairs?
What preventative maintenance should I do?
Obviously regular services....
In the last 6 months I've replaced the crank pulley, waterpump and control arms.

Any advise would be appreciated.

when i pranged my 330d pre-lci it had 248 000km.

after hitting the 200k mark the only issue i had was power steering that needed recon. other than that i only had suspension maintenance, shocks, control arms and tierods/rackends

control arms (both upper and lower), tie rods and rack ends. and shocks.

This is all dependent probably on when they were last replaced

only reason i had to do power steering recon was because of the f0kkers that replaced my suspension did not close the boots properly, so water got in the steering shaft started rusting :RedNo::blueCry:

Bud besides some suspension stuff if it hasn't been done already, just keep up with the regular oil and filter changes and you'll be all good!

Oh and now's a good time for downpipe and software!

I'm still in 2 minds re the DP, worried that sound would sound sheet.
Atm mine sounds like a 6pot when rev goes over about 2nd half.

Another preventive maintenance I'm doing next week, to have my diff
recon.

DP is a good idea. Remove those cats. It's good for the turbo

Will DP not void my extended warranty(3rd party non BMW)???
And do one need to update insurance from standard to upgraded engine?

who still does this?

My 330D had a map and dp with full exhaust. Insurance paid out full when i pranged it.

I guess if you not doing mods that define the car on a whole new level i.e doing GTX35 on a 2.0l which anyone can see is not standard, then it's not a problem really.

Also, after i did dp on my 330D, it had a more deeper grunt. did not sound like a diesel when planting it

stock exhaust sounds sheet compared to dp and single box

Key word.... upgraded engine. I specifically asked about modifications and said specifically, the engine is STOCK, exhaust is not part of the engine,

Software..., debatable..., have not heard of a single warranty not paying due to modifications, but on the other hand, not everyone is willing to state this on the forum.

Thanks for the WISDOM re DP.
But if my turbo is moeg won't the DP accelerate
the state of the turbo?

PS. Car still pulls like a train, but I can hear the turbo whistle....

nope, it will actually prolong the life as the turbo is able to work more freely

How loud is the whistle? I feel you should hear some whistle.
