I got to drive one of my dream cars yesterday when Elton collected me to take his Mcoupe back to my place for maintenance and suspension work. The short drive from Bedfordview to Brackenhurst confirmed why I have always had love for the Z3, if only I could afford one! It felt really good finally meeting my hero car by driving one for the first time. I couldn't shut up about how fantastic she felt to me, my wife still prefers the Z4M but I prefer the Z3M. When she sat in the driver's seat yesterday I told her to start the car and hear that beautiful S50B32 bark into life with its freeflow exhaust, she immediately started crying as it reminded her of her former 330i that she still misses and regrets selling, she hasn't warmed to the X3 as much as I hoped she would have, one day she will have a fast car again...

Anyway, I have lots to do on this stunning motor vehicle so lets get started!
She fits my line-up very nicely, way better than the X3 does!

Only ever driven one, a 2000 estoril blue one of a friends, and I am still in love with the car. :inlove:

Unfortunately the brand new (1000km) Bilsteins are from a E36 and not a Z3 so the length, damping and rebound rates are wrong. The rear shocks are so long that the springs fall out their perches which is seriously dangerous!

Very old tech, no adjustments can be made, hence the powerflex adjustable stuff needs to replace it.


Engine is clean underneath.

The powerflex bushes to go in are eccentric and so are adjustable. I just hope they adjustable enough to correct it. The main concern is how they got that way in the first place!

although I have a Z4M, the Z3M is still my favourite .... it seems a bit more untamed.
