2 Questions for fellow 6 owners...

Hi All,

I have two questions for fellow 6-series convertible owners.

1) Is the boot lid supposed to crash down when you close it? It just seems a bit violent.

2) The lock-pin for the fuel flap is broken. Has anyone had this replaced before? If so how did you get to the actuator?

I've got a 2007 650i Coupe, the boot lid can be adjusted to close softly, it's got two plastic/rubber stops on both edges that can be adjusted to suit. Do not know about Fuel Lid. How many km's you got on yours?, any problems?

105000km. She is in at the moment having pretty much the entire front suspension replaced. The engine thermostat was done last week. Dynamic drive pump was leaking (common problem) but I diy fixed it. Once she is back the fuel evap valve needs to be replaced. Other than that...awesome car. Big problem with cracked rims too.

I bought a bmw diagnostic cable and find it helps with troubleshooting. Also helps being empowered and knowing at least a little bit when taking the car in to bmw.

I checked out another cab at bmw the other day its boot closed the same as mine so all good there.

What I can tell you is that the fuel flap actuator runs on CAN driven from the PM mounted on the RHS of the trunk.

If you stick your hand in past the PM, which you may need to strip out, you can get to it.

Bought one off a scrappy for the 750 and it was around R500.
