Hi fanatics!!

I am very fortunate to cross roads with the last 1M Coupé imported into SA!

What a car! This one is very special, not limited to the measly 250kW it came out with.....

Come on man, more info and pics, it's like dropping a plate of cookies in front of an orphan and then taking it away...

Hey China!

You will have to wait a bit for more info.

I would like to get some input concerning collectability and value of the 1M

From what I have learned about car collections , If its kept original , it will be collectable and fetch higher prices , If its modified , or changed , it becomes a normal 1m thats been modified and many collectors wouldn't give it a second thought as it looses its originality .

I see a few changes on this one and I don't like them . I like original cars.

There appears to be a couple of small changes to this one. :cartel:

If i can remember clearly, 900Hp was too much for the gearbox. I stand to be corrected.
No offence, but there's no way this car can be making 900hp with the stock motor. Unless there's 2 precision turbos under the hood and a lot of internal work done....

I would suggest that car is worth way less than a 100 percent stock/original car. The moment you modify, collectors are not interested.

The car is nowhere near stock. Upgraded turbos and a lot more done.

Yes I know the car is heavily modified, but, let me rephrase what I meant. Does the car still have the original N54 motor to be pushing out that much amount of power? Reason being, there's at least 3 forum members with 1M's who I can think of, with upgraded turbo's, who is not even making close to that.

Not disputing anything you said bud, but figures and mods really need to be disclosed to justify that amount of power.

On a serious note, I know this car very well, and while very strong it isn't close to 900HP, yet...

Jis, you guys are a bunch of succers, who said the car makes 900bhp, and who said it has upgraded turbos......

Lets touch on the collectability issue again.

I have done quite a lot of research. IF a collectable car is modified in some way, and the upgrades were done by a well known reputable firm, it can actually add to the value.

Simple example, take an old e34 535i, versus the same car but with an Alpina conversion!!

A Porsche 964 Turbo, versus one with a RUFF conversion.

An old Porsche 911 SC turned into a Singer conversion, where only the conversion is worth more than the car and makes it very sought after.

Yes, some collectors are hardcore purists who would only require stock standard
Collectors items, but then you also get collectors who prefer the painstakingly upgraded items, on condition that all stock components are available and can be refitted without a trace of ever having been upgraded.

I think that the owner is the one to judge the car at a specific point in time, to allow or to not allow certain mods to make the car a better handling, braking, turning and accelerating car.

Why do you buy a collectors car, just to look at it, or to drive it properly, and if one fiddles with the turbos, or mapping or suspension to make an Audi S3 look shy and petite, why not??? Whether it is a BMW Sportpack suspension and, exhaust and power upgrade, or a top dollar alternative high spec and quality component upgrade, what's the difference??

Will anyone of you dare to say that a BMW shock system beats a top 3-way adjustable coilover KW set, and that the BMW shocks will ouperform the KW's??

I am of the opinion that a collectable car can be enhanced if done discretely and if done after proper thought, research and preparation, without losing value.

My GT3 RS has Vari Racing steel discs in place of PCCB's, which perform as well at a fraction of the cost, a meticulously designed high flow exhaust system at a 1/10 of the cost of Akrapovic, and an ECU upgrade. All stock parts packed away safely. Do the upgrades affect the value, surely not!!!

Just some thought for you guys, lets talk about it, seems that this can become very interesting

stock is crock...flame suit on.

Jokes aside. Its what you want to do with your car that matters. If you have intention of enjoying it in stock form, with the intention of selling at some point as a collectors item then its fine.

On the other side of the spectrum, i prefer to make my cars LOOK and drive/handle/accelerate better then their stock form yet do everything without cutting corners. Thats my goal when i purchase a car and i dont care what the naysayers have to say. I just want to enjoy it and make my heart happy.

Do what you do for your own Happiness first, and you will be happy with any outcome, do it for others, and you will feel something is wrong.
