Keen to see this car finished.

The sides look a little bulky without the stripes, but the silver stripe is ugly IMHO.

A couple of guys have run M stripes front to back (about 0,5cm high) and it looks decent if done correctly.

Are u sticking with the current wheels or no?

Wes I think I shall stay away from the factory decals and look for a two tone stripe as applied to the E28M5 in SA.
I need to find those decals as BMW says NLA.
As to the thin //M stripe I am not so sure on a black car
I shall stick with the Alpina wheels as it is an almost OE fitment although I might modify the 390 (if I could get rubber for the 390TRX rim I would have fitted them) to a 17"...need to think about it.

I was tempted to leave them visible with the invoice stuck on the fender.

The stripe is a tough decision. Period correct would be bold but the original stripe was subtle. On the e30 its bold in the front and subtle at the back (M stripe) and I quite like it but for the 6 i would prefer subtle throughout. The two tone you refer to, is that the blue and green stripe? If yes I think that might be too bold unless the stripe is thin as the modern Alpinas.
