It will be different for the e90 and e92

For the fronts (on both models), you can go 19x8.5 with an offset of 30-40

The rears are where the offsets will differ (even between pre facelift and facelift sedans)
On the e92 rears, you can use a 19.9.5 et30-35
Or 19x10 with an offset 35-38

You will have to roll the fenders, if you're lowering the car... or depending on how low you go

The offset basically determines how far in or out the wheels sit - the lower the number, the closer it will be to arch

I am using 19x10 et37 at the back with 265.30.19... car is lowered, and fenders rolled
Can load the car, and no touching

not really intersted in 19's but want a big ass lipped 18...what are my options? I dont want to stray from the bmw/ bm perfomance wheels too much thou. who did the rolling of your fenders? Can they flare them more agressively as well?

The front fenders on these cars are plastic, so you can't do anything on those

The rears can be flared, but then you'll have to work the rear bumper and side skirts as well to make it flow with the rear arches
Too much work!

As far as 18s from BMW.. there's not much available for these cars, especially with lips

Why don't you just go with 19s?
More options... but you aren't gonna find dished oem wheels for these cars

Freerider probably correct that 7 series offset will be too aggressive

Have you ever dealt with a shop in Germiston called Top Quality Mags and Tyres. They have a few replicas and also seem to be vey reputable. They can't give me the brand name for the replica tho.

What kind of probs have you heard of?

None...Have had my 18" M3 Reps for about a year now and no problems what so ever. The reps are lighter than my OEM 17s also. Still shiny as the day I bought them.

Ive also had friends go there and change their tyres/mags with no complaints at all. Everyone was pretty happy with their service. Mercs, Navaras, e46s & e9xs...alles!

i would like to give my 5c worth, If I can figure out how to add a pic then I can add my pic of my 320d, I have 19" on at the momment with 245/35/19 alround and I have no problems.

Joseph, the mags loogs good I like it on the car, it is a diffrent look but I personally would have made the wheels white but that i just me.

Wow you guys with your 245 for the rears.:bawling: I've got a measly 205 for the rears. Which is like comparing a bicycle tire to a car tire. How much extra grip will I get changing from 205's to 245 ? I've got 16" rims on my E90. I don't think I can afford to replace the rims, but the tires I think are doable.

I have also got 205's on my car.. But that a 15" rim so there is more sidewall so more flex.

So your 16" means bit less sidewall & flex..

Do not think a 245 would be able to fit the 16" rim..

Maybe try for a 215 or 225 Just make sure you get the correct sidewall to match the rolling diameter to the originals

My bro told me to consider 17's and 225's rather than 245s. Definitely not 16's with 225's. Not sure why but meh...

Only thing is that I don't want my comfort levels to go down further than what it is now. I've runflats currently, and everyone I've spoken to has told me that changing to normal tires not only weighs less but should give me a far more comfortable ride. I don't want to butcher the ride quality by getting low profile tires. I think I'll want to go for a similar profile as I've got now to preserve ride comfort, but wider tires for improved grip. Not sure if that is feasible.

if you go wider, you have to change the profile because the profile is a % of the width.. you need to keep the rolling circumference same as original to keep speedo & DSC happy

If you fitting 17's to a bmw, then size 225/45/17 is correct.. Just dont get wides & narrows, just get narrows
