16 inch Rim and tyre as Spare

Hi All

There have been a couple of discussions about using a full wheel and tyre as a spare.

I found a set of 16 Inch BMW Rims with Continental tyres on them, the dealer is around the block from my office in Northriding. His asking price is R2500 for the set.

Would anyone be interested in splitting the set with me?

I'll look to offer him R2000 for the set, which works to R500 a wheel, which is pretty good.

I have not been to the showroom to see the wheels so can't comment on their actual condition at this stage.

Let me know if you are interested.

Unfortunately not. I can pass by there this afternoon and take pictures of the thread.

Assuming two are more worn and the other 2 are less worn, we can share one of each if you want.

Search on Gumtree for 16 inch rims for R2500 and you will see the style of wheel. Was posted yesterday.

Hi there.

I did some research on the dealer and found allot of bad deals. I decided to let this one go. I will keep on looking. Best case scenario is that I find a set of wheels with the same design as mine, but it is highly unlikely.

will take too much space, rather get a space saver

Space saver still takes up space. 95% of times I drive with nothing in the boot, so makes no difference to me. I would rather have a full spare to put on than the Marie Biscuit.

When we need more space than the tyre allows I will either go without it or hitch a trailer.

I do have run flats but that won't help if you are 200km from help and you bent your rim on a pothole.
