issue with direct injection motors...fuel is injected into the combustion chambers so it bypasses the intake and intake valves etc...so theres no cleaning agent and over time carbon builds up in those areas...causes all kinds of crap as IndivJ mentioned.
you will need to see a specialist to do some walnut blasting or if you brave enough DIY
