So last night im on my way home & my engine light goes on!
A message pops up on the nav screen saying ... Engine Malfunction - Engine Power not at full use, drive moderately and take to closest BMW dealership. Well there was more but that's all i can remember. anyway so i pull over & switch off the car, after a few moments i start her up & she doesn't want to start:argh: i tried several times & nothing! so i waited a couple of minutes & then i tried again & she started normally:=):
This morning i checked everything & all seems well again.

Ive had the car for just over a year now & its the first time something has come up:thumbdo:
Guys anyone experience a prob like this? What could it be?

@ri...for sure. Lets hope bmw will solve this problem on your car. They will do software and stuff first and let you struggle with your car for another couple of Ks....eish. I took the damn thing out myself.

But, have the car read by someone first and then take it to the dealer. At least you would have a print out of what caused the shutdown.

First time I noticed the 135i has an oil temp gauge - guess you learn something new every day ...

Zaid at Zeemax will help you out or Revo@Rennzport. Both will charge you a small fee.

A 'economy needle' on a x35i would just be pointless, it will stay in the 20+ area... lol :fishwack:

This happened twice on my n54? But then the issue goes away, the second time I had to disconnect my battery. Does the car feel sluggish now?

some cars have no problem, some very down on power however, the issues are more prominent as mileage accumulates.

there is a recall from Bmw on all N54 x35i's for the fuel pump and injectors.
we had a few recalls on the x35i's that we have done... comes back perfect.

please feel free to PM me regarding the recall and issues related with regards
