135i N55 Charge Pipe breaks

Hi ....

So last night on the N1 my charge pipe breaks off the intake.:hammerhead: Got the car towed into the dealer.

Apparently this is a common fault on these cars, is this the case? The replacement part is made from different materials so is not prone to this issue.

Also no warning lights came on, should the car picked up a warning?

all the stock ones are prone to failure...

N54 E series
N55 E series
N55 F series

they all explode! you should have kept that C clip that remained on the throttle body... its not sold separately...

Very common.
Most guys replace these with aftermarket ones before they put buffl big power on the car. With an increase in boost and wear and tear they blow off or break

its cool....was just surprised no warning came up...gonna happen with increased boost...so if you going PNP should get it checked..

When i replaced my turbos under MP, the stock CP blew when they BMW were test driving it. They had to put a new one in.

When i modded my car i made sure i put in a stronger CP because the stock would give in.

Sorry to hear pal. Is your car white by any chance?
This will be the first thing I do (I'm looking at the one COBB tuning supplies) before anything else as I know it's bound to break.

I was in a silver Chev Lumina, I slowed down to look at your car (I'm about to get one). This was around 7pm and then you put foot.

Did you come right? either the fitting breaks where yours did or the rubber part ruptures.. :hammerhead:

I bought a spare Cclip from BMW last year for around R50.. if you need it, lemme know.. its yours :=):

I'll take you up on that. Let me get the keys of the 135i that I've decided on. I'm just waiting for the buyer of my car to have financing approved. Then it's a green light. :rollsmile:
