Hey guys
I recently got the BMW performance exhaust installed with the optional Y-pipe to replace the mid box.

Exhaust is louder, more raw and throaty. There is some drone occasionally, but this should lessen once some soot builds up.Video for the sound to follow. Overall I am happy with the result. Now to hear it from outside the car... Video's to follow soon.

Nice, I hope you enjoying the sound. :bravo:

I had my performance exhaust installed 2 weeks ago. It cost R15 000 plus R2000 to install at BMW Clearwater. So far, this is the best mod for an x35i.

It gives the car so much character. At cold start, the exhaust note is very loud. The best aspects of this exhaust for me are:

- dramatic loud note when the engine is cold. The noise sounds more like an engineered sound, nothing like your ordinary aftermarket exhaust.

- I have a DCT gearbox and I get a louder whoop sound when manually shifting up and roaring sound when shifting down.

- When cruising, the exhaust feels like stock. No drone what so ever.

Hey - do you notice any difference in throttle response?

Not difference at all with regards to response, the DCT box tends to be laggy of the line and when in D mode. But there is def more low down torque, when in sport mode I have to take traction control off completely in order to stop the traction control bogging down / cutting power when changing from 1st to 2nd gear.

Nope.
BMW doesnt ever supply a DP due to emission regulations.
This is what they term an "axle-back" system.
