These x35's are rewarding cars to drive, yes they can be temperamental, but you will enjoy the car, the only issues I had so far was water pump + thermostat and a starter replaced. I use my 335 daily, fuel I don't even worry about as you will be driving a turbo'd 6cyl. Be patient and get a well maintained one and for piece of mind if you don't want to worry about repairs, get a warranty with a top up plan. This excludes maintenance and servicing which will be paid by you.

I got Motor Guard warranty and a top up plan with the finance provider. So far I had great service from them, keep your cars servicing up to date and the warranty company is happy to do the claims. No matter what version you take N54 or N55, its nice to know you are covered if or when issues do come up.
