procede .. xcede ...
Hi Ive recently fitted a Procede V5 on my 135I N55 P/Pack and the car gives me the half engine check light (yellow) on start up. I ran through all the mode 3 settings 12-1 and cleared all but same story as soon as i hit the start button. Ive tried the read and clear all codes as well but no joy.:bangdesk:

Any help please.
Definitely sounds like an install problem, suggest you contact Sherwin he has done a few Procede's on the N55

Just a warning.

My buddy who does the IT for all BMW dealers, ( he works at the plant and Midrand ) was telling me he was in the office with his colleagues when they decided to cancel 4 motor plans due to Software tuning. Apparently the new software he is rolling out can pick up if the chip has been tampered with.

Just my 2c.

P.S And this is my best friend...not a random friend of a friend of a friend.
Thats the benefit of running the Procede, once its unplugged and you've properly cleared any codes its basically undetectable. However I've read on the global forums that if BM really want to they can actually see the last 12 codes "permanently" saved in a part of the ECU memory that is inaccessible using the BT cable and other after market clearing tools, including the Procede's CAN clear function. Thats why Vishnu suggest you keep the xhaust solenoid unplugged so that it keeps throwing the benign 2F6C Exhaust Fumeflap Input Signal code and overlays more serious tuning related ones.
Anyone got a contact number for Sherwin
Thanks.

On a different note, have you decided about the M5...the reviews on this car is just amazing? I got an order price of R1,1m without extras...the car comes pretty much with everything. But the black car comes with blue brake calipers...how funny is that

Haven't decided yet but have sold my E60 M5 to make space. I think I am going to wait to drive it though. Visually its not ticking all the spaces so its quite a financial commitment to buy something that's so expensive that you don't say wow when you see it. Going to take some time on this one.

Yeah that's the thing about the new M5, even when I saw it at JIMS, it wasn't like WOW... but the 1M is the 1 that catches my eye, for some reason I just stand there and admires for a while:inlove:

Oh well maybe it will be different if I can test drive the M5, I had the same feeling with my car now before I had it so.... hahahaha:flyfun:

With respect to Twinz, I'm always happy to find out new information that may affect my motorplan. To some of us tuning is a calculated risk. Sure you have to be wearing your BS filter with a lot of these posts, but I would still rather hear it than not, so I can make my own mind up. The stuff I dont care much about, I discard or dont read.

I dont think its a good idea to discourage people expressing their views or posting new information no matter how unimportant people may think it is. What is important to one person may be pointless to another. I am all for offering what I feel is good advice ... take it, don't take it, I don't care, but let me post.

Just my views and I hope I don't offend anyone with this post or put anyone to sleep with my waffling

:fencelook:

I agree with seether here, I think any info is well... info. You can take it or leave, doesn't hurt to know...
