130i check engine light & not revving

Hi guys

I have major problem on my hands. I jumped another vehicle with my e87 130i, and suddenly during the process, the vehicle I was giving power to went dead. I then went to my 130i to give it a rev and immediately saw the check engine light and then realised it will not rev past like 2000rpm..

Please guys if anyone had a similar experience please let me know what may be issue. I'm in a straight panic right now :( I've removed the negative battery terminal. Leaving it off for a few minutes and will try and start in about 30 min..

Regards
Callan

Sounds like something has blown while you were jumping someone. :mmm:

Hopefully it was just a fuse - check all the DME fuses. Then... codes read. If no luck, then check all the fuses.

Thanks for the reply. I will look at the fuses this afternoon, I'm trying to get a mech out with a diagnostic machine to check for faults. Also, removing the negative terminal from the bat for +2 hours did not make any difference

Just an update, so It was my Battery Distribution Box fuse that blew.

did you boost the other car directly from the battery?
I think its better to use points in the engine bay.
