120d Squeeek

Hey guys,

I bought a new 120d last year, and within 4 months it developed a real nasty squeak, it has been in for countless repairs, first pulleys, then belts, then bearings, then alternator... but it seems like bmw have no idea where or what is causing this as the sound will not go away, some of these parts have been replaced more than once. The noise is an intermittent one, some days it's quiet, some days it just squeaks softly, and on other days (most) it's flippen loud, and quite embarrassing.

The squeak is coming from the front end of the motor, around all the running parts, but literally everything has been replaced. :argh:

So having had my car in their garage for more time than any person ever should (esp on a new car), I am hoping there is someone on here that may have had or heard of this issue, and could hopefully point me in the right direction.

If it's when you're turning right it could be something on your actual wheel assembly... I remember after one of my services bmw failed to see my brake pads were spent, so when I turned it squeaked... I hope yours is as easy as that, coz I seriously don't wish my squeak on anyone else...

If my car is squeaking, there aint no method of stopping it, well, other than a wall :thumbdo:

Just a word of advise, if your diesel is squeaking, don't let the dealerships mess you around with trying this and that, it took me just shy of 2 years to finally get my squeak sorted, it turns out its the Crank Pulley, otherwise known as the Dampener... get them to swop that part along with your serpentine belt... well done BMW... :bravo: bout damn time!!
