Hi bud, really loving this car esp the colour, there’s just something about this grey that looks so good, maybe next you can do a ceramic coat or something alike to keep it Prestine :smilebounce: as for the steering differences maybe it’s coz m sport gives you that harder steering feel ?

E90 steering is heavy. But it's lovely. Takes some adjusting to but once you're used to it. It's amazing

Having the A3 Sedan with the different modes it makes getting used to the e90 difficult lol :fencelook:

Nut having the E90 detailed this weekend cant wait for the outcome - need to remove the boot-spoiler so that i can make it gloss black as its now a matte finish :cartel:

Thanks for the reply :chef:

Space Grey and Le Mans Blue in Msport are my favorite

The e90 Steering is a bit heavy but I find it to be very responsive and like the feel of it. It's not loose and all over the place

The E9x hydraulic steering is awesome. You have great control of the car and great feedback as well. You always know where the wheels are.

Electric definitely has it's place though, in the daily world. It just makes life easier and makes for a more effortless ride.

One thing for sure though - I pushed the A4 (yeah yeah) to it's limit at high speeds on bends and lost the wheels and had no idea where there were :biglol: That shit was scary. Never ever felt unconfident with the hydraulic steerings on the E9x and it was much more predictable and easier to make any corrections if you went a bit, ahem, overboard :smilebounce:

Great car OP. I'm liking the SG and black combo :tiptoe:

Side note. My E92 steering was very heavy (especially at highway speeds) when I needed to do my tie end rods and rack ends. The left wheel had a lot of play and this was remedied after changing those parts. Worth a check maybe?

Thanks for the reply buddy - yeah no its a big diff coming from the E90 into the A3 with it being in Comfort haha - but then i just put it in Indivudual where steering is set "sportier" and then im all good in A3 haha.

I want to do the front suspension when funds allow (Top shock Mounts, Bilstein Shocks and some other parts so will def include the Tie Rod ends

Does anyone know of the best place to have the steering wheel recovered in JHB to look as OEM ?

McTrimmers in Strijdom?

IMO nobody locally can do steering wheels properly... I would look for a second hand one on good condition rather.

Ill go past MC Auto Trimmers - they do far to fancy cars not to do a good job :fencelook:

http://www.mcautotrimmers.co.za/

Maybe its not even needed to do a recover and he has another solution...
Isn't it a hassle to remove steering etc?

I would be very interested in what they charge per wheel and how long they take. I have seen a few DIY trim kits on ebay but I doubt they ever turn out very well unless you really know what you are doing.

Went past them today, he says all the leather needs is a redye, so will go that route 1st.

But to redo Msport steering as is, R1900

Re-Dye - R150
