07 E90 320i , Rear Left door does not unlock

My 07 E90 320i , Rear Left door does not unlock from the remote or center dash button and won't open from the inside using the door handle. But when I lock the actuator makes a grgrgrgrgr.. sound but when I open using the remote or dash button the actuator makes a sound but the pin won't come up.

Please advise, is the actuator that needs a replacement or the door lock.

It sounds like the actuator is stripped, hence the noise it's making. What's weird is that you can't open it from the inside. So it might be that the lock has jammed and in return it stripped the gears on the actuator.

Best would be to open it up and have a look bud.

just wait a few days and see if it comes right it happened to my friend his window wouldnt go up and door lock wouldnt work it randomly sarted working again after a few days

When my rear window wouldn't go up, I had to disconnect the battery (negative terminal) for about 30 min to an hour, then reconnect & it worked again. I didn't have much luck with the left front door though, I had to have the actuator replaced.

Thanks Gents, I also had the rear window problem not going and had to pull on the side of the road to switch off the car and started again the window was working again. Now this door :smashScreen:

With the front door I was lucky enough to take the car to a guy who had an actuator and had no use for it. I paid R1000, including the labour. But I think it costs about R2k+ for the actuator alone at the stealers.
