I haven't actually done any checking on my side, but is the forum not running on a dedi?SubLoaded said:cratix said:@ChefDJ If you need help with coding and development, just give me a shout.

It would appear that it's more a db and data (volume) related issue (this is my suspicion). Using a pre-built/out-of-the-box GUI doesn't help dissect and resolve the issue either.
The DB is far too large to download and restore locally to check out the indexes and to do basic SQL maintenance on it (it's MySQL and not SQL Server out of interest sake). However indexes can be rebuilt using the GUI (again, not a fan, as I can't see what exactly is being done).
@chefdj we need to chat about upgrading the platform (firstly) and then getting a backup of the db from the hosting company.
No test environment :blueCry:
I'm not criticizing in the slightest. Sure the pms intermittentcy is annoying at times but I am very happy with the forum.yush1 said:Guys, its easy to sit back and criticize. Its not the end of the world. Easy and patience. Big ups to the guys who spend their personal time on this. Thanks

I'm not sure if I'd 100% agree on it being a db issue as search, viewing, and historical data loads quite well. I haven't noticed anything on the client side that would suggest this.
Maybe it the implementation of the pm system's tables that could be dB related?
NBN said:Have you guys considered truncating/deleting pm's that are more then say 5yrs old?
It's a pm, not an email or a document that needs to be stored indefinitely on the database. I am sure just freeing up this space will help the forum be more responsive and faster
