It's not like it's a new problem, it's been years of false hope and empty promises from staff about this major issue, time to get off your arse and fix it!

That's not nice at all.
Sorry I forget the truth offends you.

Its not like I give a f*** about your stupid rep system anyway so dont stress about it.
Fix the forum instead of wasting time on sending useless reps to someone who doesnt care for them, just a thought.

Keep the negative reps coming, just shows how brainless people can be. You talk of being great guys and being there for one another but in truth you are a bunch of trolls looking for another fix.

LOL.. You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you!?

Rhetorical question - I don't need an answer, your profile and associated rambling is enough to prove this.. You deserve a negative rep in real life for being such a tw@ :roflol:

@Subloaded, try running mysqltuner. it can point out issues quite easily with regards to the db setup

It's quite hard when we don't actually have the db, locally, at our perusal. I wish I had a backup that I could restore but it is just too large to download.

The DB and the site sit together on the same server as one project/solution as well which isn't nice for this scenario.

I will look into this as well as I've never needed to, or have used, mysqltuner.

General work with Ms sql server and noSQL DBs but I will read into this. Thanks!

ok, check it out if you can, we use it all the time for our sites (+/- 900k unique visitors per week). it reads all your current usage stats, then makes suggestions on what to change (memory limits, buffer sizes etc).

i'd recommend looking at upgrading to mariadb as well, we've seen HUGE performance gains from that (while on the same hardware).

give me a shout if you need more info/assistance.

Cool. Thx. Will do. I know that Naman & Dylan have been pulling their hair to get the PM issue sorted. Its been a weekly discussion amongst staff. We also got a few quotes from service providers to fix the issue but the costs were unacceptable.

Thx Nikhil for raising the PM issue again...it is very frustrating indeed.

Lets see what Naman can do with the help of some of the IT gurus in this thread.
