irritating small water leaks..

so we all know one of the e46 series's weakness was the cooling system.i have had for some time a tiny waterleak somewhere on my 330d, just small enough not to be a big deal, but big enough to irritate me..

so eventually i could not stand it anymore and set out to find it no matter what :thinking:

none of the usual suspects yielded any results, so i stripped away more and more of the engine, eventually removing the inlet manifold in my search.. and there it was, one of the fastening clips on one of the diesel feeds touched on the oil-water heat exchanger, and had managed to wear a slot into the cooler.. creating a tiny pinhole..
with lots of swearing i managed to remove the cooler and have it welded shut.

so add another location to the usual list of leaks on the e46, hopefully this helps someone out there..

But you probably spent the GDP of a small country on gaskets and things...

thank goodness u found it...I had loads of issues with my plumbing on my e46.

not really hey? i did not break any seals if i could not see a leak.. so only seal really was the oil cooler seal itself.. the inlets on the diesel use rubber grommets that are perfectly re-usable..
