Not much to update here..
Relationship status changed to Love/Hate-ish, more love of course.

Munching up the miles, currently on 64xxx km, Motorplan extension due in November with pricing not too bad.

I am seriously impressed at how this puny 2L performs on the open road. I used the car on a quick day trip last week, the car was loaded with 5 adult males and about 100Kg of stuff in the boot. It was eating up the hills at x70km/h with ease. I don't remember my F25 20d being this plucky.

Anyone with a stock G01 20d in Durban want to humble me? Hit me up

There may or may not have been a 1 before the 7...
I don't have a G01, but my mom has an F97 if that helps 👀.

Also since the relationship has turned into love/hate, maybe a G45 is calling you 👀

If I lose against the F97, can I use it for a few days?

I think the G45 is hideous.

G01 M40i LCi 🤤
I'll put it in ECO pro, so you'll have more of a chance then 🤣 🤣.

I also prefer the G01 shape over the G45. Looked at the M50 as a potential upgrade to the F97 but not worth it and nowhere near its level. Our F97 is a 2021 car with the updated dials and a few lci bits. Still got 1 year of plan before extensions

That’s awesome. I have also switched the wife’s F25 X3 to the Q7 and the car impresses me all the time. On the power delivery front the 3l v6 tdi is surprisingly strong. Our long trips are usually fully loaded sometimes with the roof box as well and it pulls strong regardless.

Just some numbers post 2 trips.
Left Durban on 03/01, drove to CT via Transkei/Garden route
Returned to Durban on 11/01 via the Karoo through Bloem.

Left for Gauteng on 13/01, returned on 15/01.

Travelled a total of 5850km
Used 440L of diesel - R10,434

Lowest consumption on the trip was 5.3L between JHB and PTA, was the first and probably the last time I'll see that consumption.

I've received one letter from Mr. Plod and I'm afraid there will be many more to come. Waze was a great help on both trips.

The Q5 performed effortlessly, it gets to 170km/h very, very quickly.

The virtual cockpit was a pleasure to look at while switching between the different screens.

About 60km into the trip..

Truck was giving off Final Destination vibes through Huguenot Tunnel

Juicing up in Colesberg at 20:30. Still had another 220km to go from the 1000km drive to Bloem. My right foot had tons of fun on this 'leg' :ROFLMAO:

Received a lovely gift somewhere near Brits.

That's all for now folks..

Incredible. Congrats and happy miles. Please let us know what the process and costs are for extending the Freeway Plan (if you ever do).
Process was fairly simple. Took the car in for a service, the service advisor handed me the quote of R18,500. Took it to the cashier and swiped my card. Bobs your uncle.

Great to see you had a great and safe journey with the Q5 bro! Good consumption there! Loving that virtual cockpit....that is such a great addition and I feel like Audi has a much better design than BMWs
