The way the photographer was able to get those lines on the bonnet to make it look like actual vents is EPIC.

Time to update your profile/signature picture bud

He has a camera with a HUGE lens, so guess that helped. Been meaning to update my profile and forget all the time…lol

Almost forgot to mention, on a side note...Finally convinced the wife to join the BMW stable. Planned a Saturday morning 2 weeks ago with my very helpful sales consultant @ BMW Century City to have the wife come in and test drive the new X3 and the 1 Series. Wife loved both but considering she does <100km a month as she works from home and only goes to the office once a month, we both agreed that the extra spend on the X3 was not worth it.

Saw the available cars in the 1 Series, she chose the colour she liked with the must have options, M Sports Pack, Equipment Pack, Pano Sun roof, Harman Kardon and of course the smash and grab tint.

I have already been given strict instructions NOT TO modify or change anything on the car... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

BMW wants 15k for the gloss black styling or some kit, basically the front spoiler, boot spoiler and side skirts. Wife heard that and even though i insisted it is from BMW so all OEM, the answer was NO....

Will let her drive it a bit and get over the new car feeling and one day take it in to BMW for "check up" and might get it done.... :ROFLMAO:

Ya'll bought a whole-ass new car for <100 km per month?!? Holy disposable income, batman!
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: its hard to explain but you not the only person to have said that....
Honestly, we do need a car for the wife. Its just that everything here is so close by. A round trip to work for the wife is under 30kms.
Weekend trips to the hairdresser etc all a couple kms.

And we did try the cheaper car route with her previous car and not going to name and shame brands, but we thought we were doing the financially responsible thing and it was not the case. Bought her previous car in Feb 2023, demo with 3000km on the clock. Traded it in now for the BM with 14k kms, and that was only because we were not driving the car as often and with the issues etc, we sent the car to Durban for my mum-in-law to use for a couple months hoping the regular usage will help the car iron out its issues. But no luck. Car had spongy and noisy breaks which 2 dealers could not sort out and claimed it as normal. Anything around 120 and above had horrible wind noise, again claimed to be normal.

Long story short, lost over 100k on the car. So rather spend a bit more and sure most cars dont hold value, but atleast we know we have a solidly built car and one you actually enjoy driving, be it for only <100kms a month ;)

So I finally got around last week to changing the tyres....thanks @modocrat for assisting with quotes. Prices we re pretty good and was about to pull the trigger when by chance while buying my wife a cover for her key from BMW, I asked the parts guy to give me a quote on tyres and was pleasantly surprised....R5335 for the front tyres each and R5478 for the rear tyres each. Needless to say, ordered them on the spot and had them fitted last week Friday. I wanna say I could almost immediately feel the difference, much better ride and the car feels more connected with the road. (y)

Did a run 2 weeks ago and although the weather was not the best, the photographer for the run got some great pics of the car...
