Had a familiar face in recently — the owner of a really nice BMW F30 340i gave us a call regarding a front brake pad replacement. Turns out he was referred back by Mo, and after chatting, we both realized he’d actually been here a few years back when Mo brought his Z4 M Coupe in — small world and even smaller BMW circles!
This time around, he already had the parts in hand — a fresh set of front brake pads and a new brake wear sensor, so we scheduled a time for him to drop the car off and got straight to work.

Since we knew he was an enthusiast, and this 340i is kept in great condition, we didn’t want him driving off with a dusty engine bay — so we gave it a quick clean and treated the plastics with trim dressing. Just that extra step to make sure it looked as fresh as it felt.

- Moved the 340i onto the lift and got the front wheels off.
- Removed the old brake pads and stripped the hardware.
- Cleaned up the retaining pins, clips, and gave the calipers a clean while still in place. These were pretty caked up with brake dust, but nothing a bit of patience and elbow grease couldn’t sort out.
- We applied anti-squeal spray to the new pads before reassembly.
- Installed the new brake wear sensor.
- Topped up the windscreen washer fluid with Motul Vision Expert Ultra.
- Ran diagnostics, cleared old fault codes, and reset the front brake service reminder via the CBS menu.
