Finally Found My Perfect M2 (Well, Almost)

I’ve been hunting for a manual OG M2 for over a year. Came across at least 10, but the same three dealbreakers kept popping up — accident history, sketchy tunes, or sky-high mileage. Eventually, I decided to give the more readily available DCT a shot… and that’s when I found this machine.

It’s a completely stock 2018 LCI M2, just ticked over 40,000 km. I’ve seen more of these than I care to admit, and this is easily the cleanest I’ve come across. It feels like it has a quarter of the mileage. Still getting used to it, but anyone who’s driven one knows how addictive they are. I'm absolutely loving it.

Already done a few bits — slapped on a new carbon diffuser and upgraded the iDrive so I’ve now got full-screen wireless Apple CarPlay (Honestly, best money I’ve spent so far). Still have a few cosmetic tweaks in mind, but the one mod I’m itching for? CS wheels. Big want.

For now, just enjoying every second of it until the elusive Manual comes around (hit me up if you find one!!) 😅

Will keep this thread updated as I go. Any suggestions of what to do next would be greatly appreciated. Peace. ✌️

This is beautiful. It remains the most desirable car in BMW stable for me personally at the moment.

I cannot spot any difference between this OG and my Comp.

I would ask Firi to hook up some carbon bits such as front spoiler and rear skirts to complete the look.

I also replaced the charge pipes on mine, for peace of mind, and dropped in some K&N panel filters (you would obviously only need one).

I say keep the wheels.

Consider some KW V3…they’re expensive but transformed the handling on my Comp.

Congrats.

I am not going to suggest what to do next. Will just follow happily and congrats. I saw that the search took a while.

What an absolutely stunning example of the M2 - I commend you and your patience, you're a lot better than most of us here who would've settled for something sooner rather than waiting for the perfect car that may never arrive.

Congrats. You have not only my respect but a beautiful car.

As far as suggestions, this is a subjective take but I believe that Ferric Grey 437Ms look lightyears better than the black counterparts and there is no better looking wheel for the M2.

Just my 2c

I regret selling my manual M2C and look for one daily. I may cave and go the DCT route like you! Congrats this is a gem

Thanks bud. Those do look incredible with the full silver clean up 👌. The problem is I've seen the 763m style wheels on this car and I can't unsee it. It just looks so menacing. Always loved the V-spoke since I was a kid. Harking back to Porsche Motorsport and early M Performance icons. Check the examples I found online 🫣

You got me there - I am a sucker for the 763M.. I loved them since I first saw them on an F80 CS at my college a while back. Though, truthfully I am not a fan of black wheels like I once was (when I was younger) and I see a lot of F chassis cars running these reps from Autostyle. However, I cannot deny how good they look on the F2x (in your case F8x) series.

At the end of the day, your car your rules. It looks amazing the way it sits now, it will look great with the Ferric Grey 437Ms and these will look just as nice. The only issue I foresee is finding a genuine set. Though I believe Designa Ridez in PTA had a genuine set not too long ago. Otherwise, good luck at the agents ;)

My parting words to you will be no different to what I yell at the TV when the Bachelor is handing out roses - go with your heart.

Chiming in again - I recall a while ago building my 'perfect M2' in my head, I'm talking years ago, and that perfect M2 just so happened to have the style 666M on it. I think these wheels look absolutely amazing on this car, are easy easier to find, show plenty of brake setup and most importantly, are OEM. What do you think?
