Update #3

I was driving on the N1 north on Sunday and as i approached Gordon road off ramp, the car went into limp mode while i was in the fast lane. The error on the screen was "Driving stabilisation restricted. Drive moderately". I managed to crawl to weltevreden park and got the car towed to a workshop.

My fok Marelize!!!!!

The diagnoses from this was i need to replace the throttle body unit which comes in at R10k for the part.

Look out for a For Sale thread in the coming few days.

A bit late now, but an aftermarket warranty would have been a good idea just before motorplan lapsed. I assume you hit the 100 000KM limit.

If you plan on keeping the car, a good idea to get an aftermarket warranty still.

I don't know the exact details, I see its from Innovation Group and seems to be called "Motomend Choice P-O 2 year warranty Opt 1"

A friend of mine has had this on a few of his cars, I believe you get a total sum which can be used for all covered parts and it is not limited to a certain spend based on the type of part. ie. you are not limited to R20k for the engine or R5k for the cooling system. It all comes from that lump sum (I seem to recall around R75k, but I could be wrong). If the full amount is depleted before the 2 year period, then the warranty ends.

If I am not mistaken there are some forum members who have used or suggested this, I recall seeing some info on it around the forums a while back.
